Rest and Relaxation by the Lake
In El Salvador, it is common for families to become members of private country clubs. The most notable ones are El Campestre, Club Salvadoreño, Club Deportivo, Club Arabe, Club Tecleno, and Club Maya. Club Salvadoreno (CS) is one of the only clubs to have two establishments for members to get R&R. There’s a beach club in El Sunzal and a lake club in Corinto.
Club Salvadoreño Corinto is an amazing place to get away from the city. The drive is easy and takes around one hour and fifteen minutes to arrive. CS Corinto is the only place in El Salvador where you can play an 18-hole golf course next to a lake. You can enjoy seafood, go for a swim, and more in a private secure area.
The Road Trip 🚙
It’s not a difficult or long drive to get to Club Salvadoreño Corinto. Even so, it’s not a popular route because you’ll have to pass through Soyapango which frequently has traffic. I’ve been going for over twenty-five years, I promise, it’s not a challenge.
The path is mostly straight with one right turn. Afterward, it’s just a twenty-minute drive along a dirt road. You’ll notice a beautiful lake before you get to the entrance of the Club.
Club at the Lake
There’s nothing quite like having a private country club next to a lake. Compared to Coatepeque, there are little to no houses around the shores. It’s very spacious with a restaurant, a large and well-kept pool, soccer fields, and tennis courts.
At the waterfront, you can play volleyball, kayak, jetski, ride a gondola or go down a waterslide. There are five houses for up to seven or nine people to rent and stay the night. Houses have air conditioning, two bathrooms, a kitchen with appliances, and a dining and living space with an outdoor terrace for BBQs.
Golf Course
The Club is famous for its golf course. There’s a golf range to practice your swings, a small golf shop, and a resting area before you head out. You are required at all times go to to the field with a caddy. At the offices, you can order a golf kart.
The Club also holds private tournaments for members to compete against each other. Rankings are displayed for everyone to see. It’s nice to know there’s a lively community that gets together. There are classes available for beginners of all ages.
Membership Fees
Prices can start at around $10,000 and there are always monthly fees plus the additional costs of services like food or housing. It’s quite an expensive lifestyle in El Salvador for those fortunate enough to afford it. Earning a membership is as easy as contacting and going through a background check. If you have a relative that is or has been a member you can get a discount. Family discounts range from one to three thousand depending on the season.
Closing Thoughts
I enjoy spending time at the lake. You’re surrounded by nature with the refreshing wind and the peacefulness of the lake. It’s a more secluded environment and with many more activities to do than at the beach. The Club at El Sunzal has a party vibe because you’re right next to El Tunco: party central for all beach goes in El Salvador. The beach is also more humid and not as private with passerby’s walking along the shore. Corinto is a pure get-away from everything.
I go with my friends or family and we’re able to enjoy a few days together. The only negative is that there is no WiFi. What do you think about the Club Salvadoreño Corinto? Leave your thoughts below and check out the other article about Club Salvadoreño El Sunzal!
My favorite part of the golf course is playing at hole 15, right next to the waters. ⛳🏌️♂️
